Bundy Bundy is an Austrian hairdressing chain with a long company tradition.

history

In 1919, the Bundy family opened their first hairdressing salon in Vienna's 2nd district , Praterstrasse 45 . The company's success story was founded in particular by the grandchildren of the company founder, Hans and Georg Bundy. Hans Bundy completed an apprenticeship with the then world hairdressing champion Hruska in 1957. Georg Bundy began his career in the Viennese hairdressing salon Hofmann, formerly the kuk Hoffriseur, and then worked for two years in a renowned hairdressing salon in Sweden. Both brothers took part in a number of hairdressing competitions.

In 1962, the brothers Hans and Georg Bundy won, in a team with four other Viennese, the hairdresser - World Cup in Amsterdam . The following year, the second salon was opened at Rotenturmstrasse 5–9 in Vienna's 1st district . In 1965 the Bundy company started an advertising campaign with "Gloria" ( Unilever ). In 1977 the move from Rotenturmstrasse to an Art Nouveau building at Habsburgergasse 3 in Vienna's 1st district took place.

The original company name "Bundy" was later changed to "Bundy & Bundy" and finally to the current name "Bundy Bundy". Little by little, more salons were added until 1997 when the first salon with the new “Style In” concept was presented in the Gerngross department store in Vienna .

In 2006, the flagship salon belonging to the “Exclusive” concept was opened at Wallnerstrasse 3 in Vienna's 1st district . This luxurious salon is located in the former palace of Emperor Franz Stephan von Lothringen ( "Kaiserhaus" ) and is equipped with an open fireplace, hall of mirrors, crystal hall, club room and relaxation room.

The company has 19 salons and 240 employees throughout Austria (as of 2008). Bundy Bundy customers include prominent public figures in their Viennese salons.

Concepts

Bundy Bundy runs salons with one of three concepts each: Exclusive , Style In and Colorworld .

  • Bundy Bundy's classic line is exclusive . The four salons of the Exclusive line are equipped with designer furniture.
  • Bundy Bundy has had Style In since 1997. More than half of all Bundy Bundy salons are based on the style-in concept.
  • Colorworld: This concept exists in a salon. With this concept, special hair coloring services are offered. This includes color advice, among other things.

Artistic team

The artistic team consists of stylists and make-up specialists. Bundy Bundy is a regular partner at fashion shows for labels such as Thomas Kirchgrabner / Liska, Versace , Armani , Hermes and Dolce & Gabbana. The artistic team is responsible for the respective hair look of the models. The artistic team also participates in art projects, for example in cooperation with artists such as Irene Andessner or Xenia Hausner . The team has been represented at Alternative Hair Shows in Bologna , London , Chicago and Vienna since the 1960s . In addition, the artistic team brings out trend collections every year.

Awards

The company has received a number of national and international awards. The most important award in the company's history is the world championship title for the brothers Hans and Georg Bundy at the World Hairdressing Championships in Amsterdam in 1962.
