The Tour de Crest is the ruins of a hilltop castle above the southern French community Crest in the Drome region . Your received Donjon is 52 meters probably the highest in France and it started in June 1877 as a monument historique under monument protection .

Crest Castle was built in several phases from the 10th century to the second half of the 14th century. From 1419 it was owned by the French crown. In 1988 the municipality of Crest acquired it from the French state.

The tower has a floor area of 20 by 32 meters and a height of 52 meters. Portcullets , weir bay windows and loopholes bear witness to the past as a medieval fortification.
