description

Due to the location of the core works on a cliff, the weir system can be counted among the spur castles. The core work has an irregularly round shape with an extension of about 10 by 12 meters. In front of this, two section trenches and ramparts run from the southwest over the south side to the southeast. The trenches are about 10 to 12 meters wide and are a maximum of 7 meters deeper than the core plant plateau. The section walls have a width of 3 to 4 meters and are up to 5 meters high in the middle and sloping in height at their ends on both sides. The north side of the core plant is followed by a plateau about 8 meters lower, about 25 by 15 meters.

Today nothing can be made out of the buildings of the core plant. The ramparts and moats have been preserved and have been under monument protection since 1976 .

Possibility of viewing

A yellow marked hiking trail leads to the castle hill. From a rock north of the summit you have a view of Lichtenberg, Freiberg , the Tharandt forest , Friedersdorf and Burkersdorf .
