history
Walsburg was first mentioned in documents around 1290 in connection with a "Burg Waldesberk", which is called in later records as a robber baron castle . The castle was probably founded by the Lords of Lobdeburg to secure the crossing of the Saale and the traffic between the Orlasenke with Arnshaugk and Bad Lobenstein . In 1323 the castle came to the Schwarzburger and in the 15th century it was abandoned.
description
Today's Burgstall shows only small remains of the wall, on the east side there was an upstream wall, which separated the spur, which sloped to the northwest in several steps and was secured by steep slopes, from the plateau. The connection path to the village / Gut Dörflas runs through the castle grounds, so this place could have served as the fortress of the castle. The area is in forest use.
