Burgberg is a district of Giengen an der Brenz in the Heidenheim district in Baden-Württemberg . The place is in the Hürbetal .
history
Burgberg was first mentioned in a document in 1209.
With the rule of Burgberg, the place came to the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1806 as part of mediatization and in 1810 to the Kingdom of Württemberg in accordance with the border treaty between Bavaria and Württemberg . Burgberg was subordinated to the Oberamt Heidenheim . The administrative reform of April 25, 1938 during the Nazi era in Württemberg led to membership in the Heidenheim district . After the Second World War, the place fell into the American zone of occupation and thus belonged to the newly founded state of Württemberg-Baden , which was incorporated into the current state of Baden-Württemberg in 1952.
The formerly independent municipality of Burgberg came to the town of Giengen an der Brenz on April 1, 1972 as part of the regional reform .
