Burkard Firsching (born November 17, 1958 in Ochsenfurt ) is a German judge and politician ( CDU ).

Life

Firsching passed his Abitur in 1977 and then studied law. In 1983 he passed his first and in 1986 his second state examination in law. From 1982 to 1991 and 1994 he was a judge at the Social Court in Speyer , before he was a research assistant in the CDU parliamentary group from 1992 to 1994. In 1995 he was appointed judge at the State Social Court of Rhineland-Palatinate . In 2004 he moved back to the Speyer Social Court as Vice President. In 2019, Firsching was appointed presiding judge at the State Social Court of Rhineland-Palatinate. He took over the chairmanship of the 2nd Senate, which mainly decides on disputes in the area of ​​accident and pension insurance as well as the Federal Parental Allowance and Parental Leave Act.

From 1976 to 1977 Firsching was district chairman of the Frankenthal student union and from 1984 to 1988 district chairman of the Junge Union Frankenthal. From 1989 he was a member of the district executive committee of the CDU Frankenthal. From 1997 to 1999 he was state chairman of the working group of Christian Democratic Lawyers in Rhineland-Palatinate. From 1984 to 2019 he was a member of the Frankenthal City Council .

In 1991 he ran for the twelfth state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate . On March 30, 1995, he replaced Norbert Schüler in the state parliament, to which he was a member until the end of the 1996 election period. In the state parliament he was a member of the committee for women's issues and the legal committee.

In addition, from 1999 to 2009 he was a member of the supervisory board of Stadtwerke Frankenthal GmbH, Baugesellschaft Frankenthal GmbH, a member of the association assembly of the Rhine-Neckar regional planning association, the regional representative of the Rhine- Palatinate planning community and its standing committee for the Upper Palatinate, the Presidential Council of the Rhineland-Palatinate social justice system and there in 2009 State chairman of the professional association of professional judges. From 2007 he was chairman of the parish council Eppstein / Flomersheim and chairman and member of other organizations.
