Burley is a city in Cassia County and its county seat in the US state of Idaho . Burley is also the birth town of Gary Peacock , a jazz bassist.

The place is partly in Minidoka County , covers an area of 11.9 km² (4.2 mi²), of which 0.3 km² is water surface. The Burley area offers year-round activities. In summer boat trips on the Snake River , mountain biking and mountaineering in the mountains and in winter the nearby Pomerelle ski area offers skiing activities.
history
Burley, founded in 1905, has a rich history. The location on the Snake River and in the shadow of the surrounding mountains made the place a strategic place in the last century. This is where the Oregon Trail and the California Trail met with another 30 pioneer routes.
