The Burnett Highway is a trunk road in the east of the Australian state of Queensland . It runs in north-south direction parallel to the east coast of Australia and connects the D'Aguilar Highway (A3, S96) at Nanango with the Bruce Highway (NA1) south of Rockhampton .

The highway was named after the Burnett River , which it crosses at Gayndah . Together with the New England Highway it connects Newcastle on the coast of New South Wales with Rockhampton and is therefore designated by the state government of Queensland as a strategic connection road.

The highest point on the highway is at 595 m, the lowest at 9 m.
