Buschhof is a district of the municipality of Schwarz in the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

history

The small town, located in the far west of today's municipal area, was first mentioned in a document in 1816. At that time there was a distillery and a school here.

In the years 1912–1941 the village or parts of it was owned by the Pentz family . A listed manor complex with a manor house can still be found at Wittstocker Strasse 9 today .

The formerly independent municipality of Buschhof was incorporated into Schwarz on June 15, 1965.

In recent times, the village has gained supra-regional importance , especially among geologists . A deep borehole called Mirow 1/74 , carried out here between 1974 and 1977, reached a total depth of 8008.6 meters. Through this deepest borehole in Europe at that time, all geological layers could be detected here up to about 240 million years ago.

Today the Mecklenburg Lake District Ice Age Route runs through the village .

traffic

Buschhof train station - used privately today

The state road L 25 , coming from the state border with Brandenburg in the south, runs from the town in an easterly direction to the main town of Schwarz, four kilometers away.

Buschhof is on the Wittenberge – Strasburg railway line . However, there has been no rail traffic here for some time, as the section between Wittstock / Dosse and Mirow was closed in 1998. The former station building from 1898, which is now a listed building, has been sold in the meantime and has thus been given a new use.
