history

Bushman's Revenge was founded in 2003 by Even Helte Hermansen (guitar), Rune Nergaard (bass) and Gard Nilssen (drums) in Oslo . After several years of playing live in clubs and at festivals, the band recorded their debut album Cowboymusic (2007). After a lengthy European tour with concerts at jazz festivals, Bushman's Revenge was signed to the Norwegian avant-garde label Rune Grammofon . In 2009 their first album was released there, You Lost Me at Hello , which reminded Jimi Hendrix and Albert Ayler at the same time . On Jitterbug (2010) which entered Keyboardist Ståle Storløkken as a guest; the album includes a cover version of the Metallica song Damage . Another cover song in the band's repertoire is Sonny Sharrock's As We Used to Sing ( A Little Bit of Big Bonanza , Bushman's Fire ). The band tours not only in Europe, but also in Asia and the USA . On the successful album Thou Shalt Boogie! (2013) joined David Wallumrød ( Hammond organ ) and contributed to an expansion of the band's sound. Wallumrød and Kjetil Møster ( saxophone ) complement the trio on the live album Bushman's Fire (2016) .

In their music, the Power Trio combines improvised ( free ) jazz with elements of heavy metal and progressive rock .
