Verena Butalikakis
Verena Butalikakis (born Maass , * 26. March 1955 in West Berlin , † 8. February 2018 ) was a German politician of the CDU . From 2002 to 2005 she was a member of the German Bundestag .
education and profession
Verena Butalikakis completed her A -levels at the Paul-Natorp-Gymnasium from 1974 to 1978 as a teacher at the University of Education in Berlin . She then worked as a teacher at a primary school in Charlottenburg until 1992 .
Political activity
Butalikakis joined the Berlin CDU in 1978 , where she was a member of the district executive. From 1996 she was deputy chairwoman of the KPV Berlin, and later she was promoted to the KPV federal board. In addition, she sat on the federal committee for society and social policy of the federal CDU. In February 2000 she became a member of the CDU state executive, from 2002 to 2003 she was Secretary General of the CDU in Berlin. In addition, she was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Federal Agency for Civic Education
In 1987 Butalikakis moved into the district assembly of the Schöneberg district , where she was chairman of the school committee and, from 1990, also deputy parliamentary group chairman. In 1992 she was appointed city councilor for health and environmental protection in the Schöneberg district office and therefore left the BVV. In 1996 she was appointed State Secretary in the Senate Department for Health and Social Affairs. After the 1999 elections , she left the Senate. In early 2000 she became a member of the Berlin House of Representatives . After initially running unsuccessfully for the state parliament, she was allowed to replace the retired Rüdiger Jakesch . In parliament she was a member of the main committee and the administrative reform committee. After five months, she resigned her seat because, according to her, her salary as a member of parliament was too low. In 2002 she was elected to the Bundestag for the CDU . There she represented the constituency of Berlin-Neukölln .
Butalikakis died on February 8, 2018 after a serious illness at the age of 62.
