Butyny ( Ukrainian Бутини ; Russian Бутыны , Polish Butyny ) is a village in the north of the Ukrainian Lviv Oblast with about 1500 inhabitants (2001).

The village, first mentioned in writing in 1535, was originally in the aristocratic republic of Poland and was described in detail in the royal illustration from 1565. Butyny lies at an altitude of 207  m on the bank of the Rata , a 76 km long left tributary of the Bug and administratively belongs to the district municipality of Welyki Mosty in the south of Sokal district .

The village is located 12 km west of the Welyki Mosty community center, 40 km southwest of the Sokal district center and about 55 km north of the Lviv oblast center .
