Robert Krausse
Isidor Robert Krausse (born July 28, 1834 in Weimar , † November 5, 1903 in Dresden ) was a German portrait and history painter and watercolorist.
Krausse studied at the Leipzig Art Academy with Gustav Jäger . In 1863 he was awarded a small silver medal.
From 1858 he worked in Munich. In 1861 and 1866 he visited the Netherlands to study works by Anthonis van Dyck and Peter Paul Rubens in museums there. In 1872 he went on a study trip to Italy .
In May 1869, Richard Wagner ordered a copy of Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller 's Beethoven portrait from him . On behalf of King Ludwig II of Bavaria. He was in 1875 in Wahnfried by Richard Wagner in Bayreuth operates.
In 1880 he settled in Dresden. In 1889 he renovated the medieval painting in the church of Reinsberg (Saxony) .
