The village Buvika / Ilhaugen was founded from the two merged villages Buvika and Ilhaugen and consists of the places that have now grown together. Buvika / Ilhaugen is located on the European route E39 and is about 8 km east of Børsa , where the municipal administrative center (Administrasjonssenter or Kommunesenter) of the municipality of Skaum is also located.
