Aloiampelos is a genus of plants from the subfamily of the Affodill family (Asphodeloideae).

Vegetative characteristics
The species of the genus Aloiampelos are shrubby or climbing, herbaceous or somewhat woody, perennial , leaf succulent plants. Their spirally arranged, linear-lanceolate, thin, flat leaves have a leaf sheath and are separated from one another by clear internodes . The leaf surface is not speckled. The leaf margin is serrated to serrated, the leaf tip is tapered. The leaf juice is not or only a little available and is then clear to pale yellow and does not have a strong smell.
Inflorescences and flowers
The usually simple inflorescence appears laterally and sometimes has one or two branches. The grapes are either loose to fairly dense cylindrical or head-shaped. The flower stalks are not articulated. The cylindrical, slightly triangular flowers are sometimes slightly bulbous or constricted in their middle. Their yellow, orange, red or greenish tepals are somewhat fused together. The stamens and stylus can protrude from the flower and are upright. The stamens are bare.
Fruits and seeds
The fruits are loculicidal capsules . They contain numerous seeds .
Systematics and distribution
The genus Aloiampelos is common in South Africa in the Western Cape and Eastern Cape provinces . One species also occurs in the border area with Swaziland .
