Bystryk ( Ukrainian Бистрик ; Russian Быстрик Bystrik , Polish Bystrzyk ) is a village in the southeast of the Ukrainian Oblast Zhytomyr with about 1500 inhabitants (2001).
The village, first mentioned in writing in 1605, is the only place in the 46.312 km² district council of the same name in the center of Ruschyn district .
The village is situated at an altitude of 219 m on the banks of Murowanka ( Мурованка ) shortly before its confluence with the Rostawyzja ( Роставиця ), a 116 km long left tributary of Ros , 7 km northwest of the Rajonzentrum Ruzhyn and about 80 km southeast of the Oblastzentrum Zhytomyr .
The regional road P-32 runs south of the village .
