Bystrzyca (German: Peisterwitz) is a place in the rural community Oława (Ohlau) in the Polish Voivodeship of Lower Silesia .

Bystrzyca is about seven kilometers northeast of Oława and is surrounded by large forest areas in the north and south.
history
The place was first mentioned in 1245 as Bistrzecz and was originally a Slavic fishing village. In the 12./13. In the 18th century, the place was under the castellany Ritschen, from 1366 it was owned by the Lords of Czambor (Tschammer?), Then passed into the possession of the Lords of Solcz and finally in 1470 to that of the Lords of Prittwitz. The Protestant church, a half-timbered building, was first mentioned in 1604 as a branch church of Minken. From 1703 to 1707 the place was temporarily Catholicized and came to Prussia as a result of the Silesian Wars. From 1816 Peisterwitz belonged to the district of Ohlau and was the largest municipality there after the district town.

From 1941 to 1944 there was a labor camp in the village for Jewish women who had to do forced labor in a canning factory. In 1945 the German population was expelled and Polish new settlers took their place.
Bystrzyca today
There are six grocery stores, a bank, a pharmacy, a primary school and a secondary school in the village. Today the parish belongs to the powiat Oławski .
