Cáceres CB was a Spanish basketball club from Cáceres .

history

The association was founded in 1961. He started in the second Spanish basketball league, where he played permanently until 1992. In the 1991/92 season, the team was promoted to the highest Spanish league, the ACB league . No sooner had you arrived in the House of Lords than you would almost have come down straight away. The main round finished 21st, but the success in the playdowns prevented relegation. Consequently, Cáceres established himself in the elite Spanish league. In 1994 they finished a good fifth place in the regular season and came in the play-offs to the quarter-finals.

In the 1994/95 season, the club reached the semi-finals of the Korać Cup , where he was defeated by the eventual winner of this cup Alba Berlin .

While one landed in the league twice in a row in midfield, the team advanced to the cup final of the Spanish basketball cup, the Copa del Rey de Baloncesto , in 1997 , where Joventut de Badalona was defeated 71:79. This year, the team drew attention again in the Korać Cup, which only ended in the quarter-finals.

The club did not make it into the play-offs for the championship after 1994. But for years he had nothing to do with the descent. In the 2002/03 season, the performance of the squad deteriorated rapidly, also due to a difficult financial situation that had developed at the club. It was only enough for 17th place and after eleven years in the ACB league, relegation to the second division followed. The financial situation became more and more tense and the club had to file for bankruptcy. The club was initially able to maintain the game operations in the second division, but after the 2004/05 season this was discontinued and the club disbanded.

With Cáceres Ciudad del Baloncesto there is a new basketball club in Cáceres since 2007.
