history

The building was built in 1870 according to plans by foreman Christian Zillhardt and used as an apartment building. The Villa Faißt (1873), the house at Bahnhofstrasse 27 (1874) and the one at Cäcilienstraße 62 and 64 (1875) were also built according to plans by Christian Zillhardt .

In 1950 the house was owned by Emil Rothmann from Stuttgart and was used by the criminal police, the Office for Public Order, the Office for Statistics, the Insurance Authority and other municipal institutions. In 1961 the municipal offices moved out and only the criminal police remained in the building.
