Cédric Ebewa-Yam Mimbala (born August 22, 1986 in Bonn ) is a Congolese football player who also has German citizenship. He has been under contract with eight division club FSV Bergshausen since 2019 .

Career

Mimbala, who mostly plays as a central defender, but can also be used in defensive midfield, began his career at 1. FC Köln , for whose youth teams he played from 1997 to 1999. In 1999 he moved to Bonner SC , but after a year went to its city rivals MSV Bonn. From 2002 he played for the youth teams of PSI Yurdumspor Cologne for a year and a half . Then he moved to Alemannia Aachen , where he played for the youth teams until summer 2005 and then for half a year for the second team. In the second half of the 2005/06 season he played for the Belgian second division club KFC Dessel Sport . For the 2006/07 season he returned to Germany and played for SpVgg Bayern Hof for one season . He then moved to SC Fortuna Köln , with whom he qualified for the NRW League in the 2007/08 season . For the 2009/10 season he went to the second team of FC Schalke 04 , with whom he played in the Regionalliga West . In the first half of the 2010/11 season he played for Rot Weiss Ahlen . From the second half of the season he wore the SC Genemuiden jersey in the third Dutch division. In April 2011, however, the SC Genemuiden announced that Mimbala had already left the club due to private problems. On August 18, 2011, the SG Sonnenhof Großaspach announced the commitment of Mimbala for one season, this contract was dissolved by Mimbala on December 23, 2011. In January 2012 he moved to the upper division club SV Roßbach / Verscheid in Rhineland-Palatinate . In the 2012/13 season he was initially under contract with FC 08 Homburg , but left the club in August and signed a contract with VfR Mannheim in October 2012 until the end of the season. In the summer of 2013 he joined the regional league team SVN Zweibrücken .

In July 2014 Mimbala switched to Energie Cottbus . He signed a contract with the third division team until 2015, got the shirt number 4 and extended his contract in the course of the first season until 2016. In Cottbus, Mimbala became a crowd favorite and was nicknamed "Machine" by the fans.

In January 2016 he returned to league competitor SC Fortuna Köln . During the winter break of the 2017/18 season, coach Uwe Koschinat informed him that he was no longer planning with him and that he had to look for a new club.

At the end of the transfer period on January 31, 2018, Mimbala signed a contract with KSV Hessen Kassel until the end of the season .

Private

In July 2019, Mimbala gave an interview for the soccer magazine “ 11 Freunde ”, in which he publicly admitted that he was addicted to gambling for many years.
