The Céou has its source in the Causses du Quercy Regional Nature Park on the southern municipal boundary of Séniergues ; it initially drains in a south-westerly direction, but then turns to north-west and flows into the Dordogne as a left tributary after 55 kilometers at Castelnaud-la-Chapelle .
