The works known under the name Crassini are committed to the tradition of the renewal of church music after the Council of Trento by Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina , they stand at the turn of the style from the late Renaissance - polyphony to the Venetian - early Baroque sound development, the seconda pratica .

The two Latin masses published by Wolfram Menschick in 1980 and 1981 have been handed down more recently . The performances are usually announced with a mixed choir or a cappella . Scores are offered in stores in these categories. The current understanding of a cappella music, that is, singing without using instruments, no longer corresponds to the performance practice at that time and also attributed to C. Crassini. In Renaissance music, instruments accompanied the respective singing voice by playing the same notes ( colla parte ). Scores of the Missa Prima for accompaniment by various instruments are available in the sheet music archive of the Kreuznacher-Diakonie-Kantorei.
