C. Darin Knight

C. Darin Knight (born before 1975) is an American sound engineer .

Life

Knight began his career in the mid-1970s, his first feature film being Robert Clouse 's action comedy Free Journey into the Hereafter . As a result, he worked on some blaxploitation films. In 1979 he won the Oscar for Best Sound for Going Through Hell, along with Richard Portman , William McCaughey and Aaron Rochin . He was also nominated for the BAFTA Film Award in the Best Sound category for the war film , but was unable to accept this award.

From the early 1990s on, Knight began working more for television, and by 2000, worked almost entirely on various television series , including 88 episodes of Raising Hope and 80 episodes of My Name Is Earl . For his work on the latter series, he was nominated for a Primetime Emmy in 2007.
