Cacia is a municipality ( freguesia ) in the Portuguese district of Aveiro . 7354 inhabitants live in it (as of June 30, 2011).
Cacia is the northernmost municipality in the Aveiro district and consists of the five districts of Cacia, Vilarinho, Sarrazola, Quintã do Loureiro and Póvoa do Paço. It borders in the north on the Ria de Aveiro , in the west on the municipality of Vera Cruz , in the south on the municipality Esgueira and in the east on the Rio Vouga and the municipality of Angeja, which is part of the Albergaria-a-Velha district .
Cacia is located in the immediate catchment area of the city of Aveiro and is heavily influenced by industry. There are numerous industrial companies of supraregional importance in their municipality. So the Renault supplier CACIA and branches of Vulcano , Funfrap and Portucel Soporcel .
Cacia is on the Linha do Norte .
