The Caleta Villegas ( Spanish ; in Argentina Caleta Caceres ) is a bay on the north coast of Joinville Island off the northern tip of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located immediately east of Fitzroy Point .
Chilean scientists named it after Aureliano Villegas, an officer on the Rancagua on the 2nd Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1947-1948). Argentine scientists, on the other hand, named them after Lorenzo Cáceres, a sailor on the Uruguay in 1903.
