Caloplaca cerina var. Muscorum (A. Massal.) Jatta is a species of lichen fromthe Teloschistaceae family .

Macroscopic features
Caloplaca cerina var. Muscorum is a crusty lichen, that is, its bed ( thallus ) lies closely on the base. The thallus is thin, slightly warty, gray without soredia and isidia . The species grows on mosses and is therefore hardly visible. The apothecia are 0.5 to 1 mm in diameter. The apothecary disc is orange to red-brown, not frosted and has raised edges. The edge of the apothecary is white-gray.
Microscopic features
The spores are hyaline , polar 2-celled, 10–17 × 5–10 µm.
Spot reaction
The thallus does not change color when it is drizzled with potassium hydroxide solution (K-) and the apothecary disk changes color to red (K +).
Similar Art
Caloplaca cerina var. Muscorum can easily be confused with Caloplaca cerina . The difference is that Caloplaca cerina occurs on bark and Caloplaca cerina var. Muscorum only on moss.
