The beach winch ( Calystegia soldanella ) is a plant from the genus of calystegia ( Calystegia ) in the family of wind plants (Convolvulaceae). The species is distributed worldwide near the seas.

description

The beach wind is a hairless, perennial plant that forms a rhizome as a perennial organ. The stems are prostrate and up to 60 cm long. The leaf blade is 1 to 3 cm long, 1.5 to 2 times wider than long, kidney-shaped and slightly fleshy.

The inflorescence stalks are 3 to 6 cm long and therefore usually protrude above the accompanying leaves. The prophylls are 7 to 16 mm long, 5 to 10 mm wide, ovate to more or less round, the tip is notched to blunt. They start directly below the calyx and enclose it more or less so that they are flat or shaped around the calyx. The sepals are 10 to 16 mm long, the crown is pink and 32 to 52 mm long.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 22.
