Camacha is a municipality in the Santa Cruz district on the Portuguese island of Madeira .
Camacha is the center of Madeiran basket weaving. It is also known for its annual apple festival and folklore events.
Camacha has an area of 19.8 km² and 7449 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011). The population density is 376.8 inhabitants / km². Camacha is a few kilometers inland at an altitude of about 700 m above sea level. M. on the road that connects the island's capital Funchal with Santo António da Serra . The main line of business is agriculture. The municipality borders the Atlantic in the south, and the mountainous part of Madeira connects to the north.
