Camelia Voinea

Camelia Voinea (born March 2, 1970 in Constanța ) is a former Romanian gymnast .

She started gymnastics at CS Farul Constan mita. In 1985 she took part in the gymnastics world championships for the first time . In Montreal Voinea was runner-up with the Romanian team. She was also fourth on the uneven bars and eighth in the all-around competition.

At the European Gymnastics Championships in 1987 Voinea won the silver medal on the floor and reached eighth place in the all-around competition. The world championships also took place in the same year . In Rotterdam, the Romanian team ( Aurelia Dobre , Eugenia Golea , Celestina Popa , Daniela Silivaș , Ecaterina Szabó , Camelia Voinea) became world champions before the Soviet Union. Voinea received the top grade of 10.0 for her floor exercise.

In 1988 Voinea took part in the Olympic Games . In Seoul she won the silver medal with the Romanian team behind the Soviet Union. She could not reach the individual device finals.

After the end of her sports career, Voinea was the only member of the 1987 world championship team to not emigrate abroad. She became a trainer at CS Farul Constanța, where she a. a. Cătălina Ponor trained.
