Camillo Faresin

Camillo Faresin SDB (born May 22, 1914 in Maragnola , † January 25, 2003 ) was Bishop of Guiratinga .

Life

Camillo Faresin joined the Order of the Salesians of Don Bosco and was ordained a priest on June 9, 1940 . Pius XII. appointed him on August 13, 1954 as coadjutor prelate of Registro do Araguaia and titular bishop of Bubastis .

The Archbishop of Cuiabá , Francisco de Aquino Correa SDB, ordained him on 24 October of the same year Bishop ; Co- consecrators were Antônio Campelo de Aragão SDB, Auxiliary Bishop in Cuiabá , and Orlando Chaves SDB, Bishop of Corumbá .

After the death of José Selva e Amaral, he succeeded him on July 26, 1966 as prelate of Registro do Araguaia. He attended every session of the Second Vatican Council . On May 26, 1978 he renounced his titular bishopric as part of the new allocation guidelines of the Roman Curia . On October 3, 1981, the Pope elevated the territorial prelature to a diocese and appointed him the first bishop of Guiratinga . On November 20, 1991, John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
