Candide Pralong (born September 24, 1990 ) is a Swiss cross-country skier .

Career

Pralong made his debut in the cross-country skiing world cup in December 2010 in Davos , where he was classically 72nd over 15 km; a year later he reached 69th place over 30 km freestyle at the same location and also missed the points in the sprint as 72nd . Pralong won his first World Cup point in his fourth World Cup appearance with a 30th place in the 30 km freestyle in December 2013, also in Davos. In January 2015 he achieved his first top 10 result in the Alpine Cup with seventh place over 15 km freestyle in Oberwiesenthal . In the 2015/16 season he started in the Worldloppet Cup . He finished sixth once, fifth twice and fourth three times and thus reached third place in the overall standings at the end of the season. In the following season he finished in the top ten five times in the Worldloppet Cup, including third place in the Ugra Ski Marathon and second place in the Dolomitenlauf and won the overall ranking. At the Swiss Championships 2017 in Val Müstair , he came second in the pursuit. In the following year he came 32nd in the Tour de Ski 2017/18 and ran at the Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang on the 50th place over 15 km freestyle and 31st place in the skiathlon and in the 50 km mass start race .
