Canevino is a fraction of the Italian commune ( comune ) Colli Verdi in the province of Pavia , Lombardy region .
geography
The place is located about 29.5 kilometers south-southeast of Pavia in southwestern Lombardy in the Oltrepò Pavese .
history
Canevino is mentioned in documents as early as 816 (as Cannavino ) and 930. Until 2018 an independent municipality with 108 inhabitants at last (as of December 31, 2017) and Canevino merged with the municipalities of Ruino and Valverde on January 1, 2019 to form the new municipality of Colli Verde. The former municipality belonged to the Comunità montana Oltrepò Pavese and bordered directly on the province of Piacenza ( Emilia-Romagna ). It consisted of the Canevino, Caseo (parish seat), Colombara and Fontana factions.
