Cao (state)

Cao ( Chinese   , Pinyin Cáo ) was a until 487 BC Chr. Existing ancient Chinese State on the territory of the present province of Shandong . Cao was in the Western Zhou Dynasty , the Spring and Autumn Annals, and the Warring States Period during the Zhou .

The first ruler was Shu Zhen Duo ( 姬 振 鐸  /  叔 振 鐸 ), the son of King Wen of Zhou ( 周文王 ), in the 11th century BC. Chr.

Its capital Taoqiu ( 陶 丘 ) was in the southwest of today's Dingtao district ( 定陶 县 ) in Shandong Province .
