The state of Teng ( Chinese   , Pinyin Téng or 滕 國 , Ténggúo ; approx. 1046-414 BC) was a small Chinese state in the Western Zhou Dynasty , the time of the spring and autumn annals and the time of the warring people Ancient Chinese empires .

He was in the south of what is now Shandong Province . Its territory is today in the field of the municipality of Tengzhou ( 滕州市 ).

The family name of the ruling family of Teng was Ji ( ). The state was conquered and annexed by the state of Yue during the reign of King Gou Jian of Yue ( 越王 勾践 ; ruled 496-465 BC).

The small state of Teng was a vassal of the state of Lu and is the home of the Chinese philosopher Mozi , known in Latin as Master Micius (墨子, Mòzǐ), and the builder Lu Ban ( 魯班  /  鲁班 , Lǔ Bān ).
