Cao Song (Han Dynasty)
Cao Song ( Chinese 曹 嵩 , Pinyin Cáo Sōng , W.-G. Ts'ao Sung ; Zì 巨 高 , Jùgāo , Chü-kao ; † 193 ) was the adopted son of the eunuch Cao Teng and father of the later Chinese warlord Cao Cao . Legend has it that he also adopted him and that Cao Cao's previous family name was Xiahou . This story strengthens the connection between the Xiahou and Cao families , especially since Xiahou Yuan's wife is said to have been a stepsister of Cao Cao. However, both legends are not confirmed.
Cao Song was killed while traveling by Tao Qian , prompting Cao Cao on a campaign to bring Tao Qian's entire sphere of influence under his control.
