The Capanna Campo Tencia ( Campo Tencia Hut ) is a managed refuge of the Ticino section of the Swiss Alpine Club in the Swiss canton of Ticino .
location
The hut is located on the Poggio del Giübin mountain terrace in the Leventina Valley at the foot of Pizzo Campo Tencia at 2140 m above sea level. M. in the Ticino Alps .
history
The hut was inaugurated on August 11, 1912, and an east wing was added in 1933. This hut was completely destroyed by fire on August 12, 1975. In 1976 a new hut was built, which was inaugurated on September 25, 1977.
In 2008 the north wing was added, in which there is also a new kitchen.
The hut is the stage of the fourth stage of the Via Alta Idra high-altitude trail , which leads in 12 stages from the source of the Ticino river to its mouth in Lake Maggiore .
