History and description

The two-story hut was inaugurated in 1935 and renovated in 2019. It is located on an alpine pasture in Val Pontirone above Biasca. It belongs to the Torrone d'Orza, Biasca section of the Unione Ticinese Operai Escursionisti (UTOE) under the umbrella organization Federazione Alpinistica Ticinese (FAT).

It has a lounge / dining room with 42 seats. The 36 beds are divided into two rooms with 18 beds each. The kitchen has a wood and gas stove. The lighting is done with solar cells, the heating with wood. There is an outside terrace with tables, a barbecue area and a fountain.

The hut is open all year round with cooking facilities, but is only manned from June to September. In winter the hut is not suitable for a visit to the wild, remote area.
