The Capanna Gorda is a mountain hut in the Gotthard Group at 1800 m above sea level. M. and stands in the area of Aquila , which belongs to the municipality of Blenio , in the Swiss canton of Ticino .
location
The cottage is on the edge of the mountain pasture Gorda di Sopra above the Blenio Valley . The Gorda di Sopra nature reserve connects to the south .
According to the SOIUSA classification , the area belongs to the Lepontine Alps .
description
The present hut was inaugurated in 2000 (there used to be only a Spartan wooden hut from 1965). It consists of two floors, a dining room with 35 seats, a kitchen with wood or gas heating, has wood heating with solar panels, lighting by solar cells, electricity generation by wind energy and sleeping places with woolen blankets.

- Fontanedo ( 1590 m above sea level , accessible by car) in 40 minutes
- Aquila ( 740 m above sea level , accessible by public transport) in 3½ hours
- Ponto Valentino ( 715 m above sea level , accessible by public transport) in 3½ hours
- Camperio ( 1221 m above sea level , accessible by public transport) in 2 hours
