The Capling Peak is a 2730 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Victory Mountains, it rises 8 km southeast of Bramble Peak on the northern flank of the Croll Glacier .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1960 to 1964. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1970 after Robert W. Capling, engineer on board an LC-130 Hercules during the operation Deep Freeze in 1967 and 1968 on McMurdo Station .
