Caplutta Sontga Onna
The Caplutta Sontga Onna ( Rhaeto-Romanic in the idiom Sursilvan for "Chapel of St. Anna ") is a chapel in the municipality of Trun in the Surselva in the Swiss canton of Graubünden .
history
The first documentary mention of the chapel comes from a consecration letter dated October 18, 1500, when Auxiliary Bishop Balthasar consecrated a presumably already existing chapel to the Virgin Mary, her mother Anna and Saints Andreas, Nikolaus Wolfgang and Helene. The names of the saints suggest a relationship with mining. On October 15, 1515, the chapel called capella gloriose virginis Marie et Sancta Anne with three altars was consecrated again. According to the chronicle of Fortunat Sprecher from 1617, the patronage of St. Anne had already prevailed.
Today's chapel, a baroque building with a polygonal choir, is a new building. It was built across the original structure and consecrated on July 13, 1704. A total renovation took place in 1924, an interior renovation in 1994.
construction
Outside
The Tuscan vestibule was probably not originally planned as it overlaps the arches that structure the chapel. The vestibule was first painted in the 18th century. In 1836 they were replaced by frescoes by Ludwig Kühlental, which were replaced by frescos by Otto Baumberger during the renovation in 1924 . They show the foundation of the Gray League on March 16, 1424 and its last renewal in 1778.
Inside
The north-facing building consists of a three-bay nave and a recessed polygonal choir. The walls are divided by pilasters . The high altar dates from around 1704. The altar sheet shows an Anna herself by Fridolin Eggert. The two wooden side altars show images of saints. They come from Jakob Soliva and are dated 1717.

Maple and main courtyard
Well-known personalities from the region are honored with memorial plaques in the courtyard of the gray bund on the east side of the chapel. On the outside wall of the courtyard is the Trun maple , which was planted in 1867 from a sapling of the old tree.
