E. Cardon Walker

E. Cardon Walker , called Card Walker, (born January 9, 1916 in Rexburg , Idaho , † November 28, 2005 in La Cañada Flintridge , California ) was an American manager.

Life

Card Walker started his career in 1938 in the mail room of Disney Corp. and worked his way up in the group. After the death of Roy O. Disney , Walker became a senior executive at the Walt Disney Company . He was president of Disney from 1971 to 1977, CEO from 1977 to 1983 and chairman of the board from 1980 to 1983. He was also a member of the Executive Committee of the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee and thus involved in organizing the 1984 Summer Olympics .

Walker was the father of Disney World in Florida, directed Epcot in Florida, Tokyo Disneyland and the Disney Channel , Disney's first cable TV.
