Carl-Dietrich von Reichmeister , also Karl-Dieter von Reichmeister , (* December 22, 1910 in Dessau , † September 23, 2001 in Neubiberg near Munich ) was German Reichsfilmdramaturg from November 1939 to March 1943 .

Life

Carl-Dietrich (- Dieter) von Reichmeister attended the Latin School in Halle (Saale) from 1922 to 1925 . He married Christa von Bock and Polach , the granddaughter of the Prussian infantry general Friedrich von Bock and Polach, in Wilhelmshorst near Potsdam in 1937 .

Reichmeister was a member of the NSDAP (membership number 92.860) and the SS (membership number 103.829), where he was promoted to SS-Hauptsturmführer in 1939 .

In 1942 he was listed as SS- Hauptsturmführer in the staff of the SS-Hauptamt and advisor in the Reich Ministry for Public Enlightenment and Propaganda , which was based in Berlin-Frohnau . He also worked as an advisor to the Reich Press Chief.

In Joseph Goebbels' diaries Carl-Dieter von Reichmeister is mentioned several times.

In the summer of 1943 he was called up to the front as a war reporter for the Waffen SS in the SS standard Kurt Eggers . His successor as Reichsfilmdramaturg was government councilor Kurt Frowein .

After the end of the war he was interned by the Allies from 1945 to 1948. Then Carl-Dieter von Reichmeister worked as an innkeeper. Around 1985 he lived in Grainbach im Chiemgau .
