Carl Albrecht Helmuth von Maltzahn (born October 9, 1766 in Vanselow , † May 22, 1832 in Utzedel ) was a Prussian war and domain councilor and district administrator of the Demmin district .

Life

Carl Albrecht Helmuth von Maltzahn came from the Pomeranian noble family von Maltzahn . He was the son of District Administrator Dietrich Christoph von Maltzahn (1726–1775) and Gustava Magdalene von Maltzahn (1738–1804) from the Teschow house of the Mecklenburg branch of the family. After the death of the father, the mother took over the upbringing of Carl Albrecht and his five siblings. After being taught by private tutors, he attended the Knight Academy in Brandenburg Cathedral from Easter 1784 . At Easter 1785 he enrolled at the Brandenburg University of Frankfurt , where, in addition to law and camera studies, he attended lectures in history, mathematics and philosophy.

In November 1788 he became a trainee lawyer at the Neumärkischen War and Domain Chamber in Küstrin . After he had expanded his knowledge of cameralistics , he passed the major exam on August 18, 1792 and was appointed assessor on August 28. A year later, he was promoted to redundant council. Apparently because his career was progressing slowly and because of criticism of his qualifications and management he resigned in 1795.

In an inheritance comparison with his brother Hans Gustav von Maltzahn he received the Utzedel estate in 1796.

In 1812 he was appointed district administrator in the Demmin district and after the reorganization of the district structure in the Prussian state in 1818, he was appointed district administrator of the newly formed Demmin district. He was also general councilor for the Pomeranian landscape .

Carl Albrecht Helmuth von Maltzahn was a 3rd class bearer of the Red Eagle Order .

He was married to Caroline Sophie Juliane Friederike von Sobeck (1770-1847) since 1797. Their three children died in infancy.
