Dietrich Christoph Gustav von Maltzahn (born September 16, 1726 in Wolde , † December 18, 1775 in Vanselow ) was the royal Prussian district administrator in the Demmin-Treptow district.

Life

Dietrich Christoph Gustav von Maltzahn came from the Pomeranian line of the noble family von Maltzahn . His father Hans Berndt von Maltzahn (1687–1747) was the heir to Wolde, Duckow , Rottmannshagen and Zettemin . His mother Marie Sophie von Waldow (1696–1739) was a daughter of Adolf Friedrich von Waldow zu Werben, Oberschenk in Mecklenburg-Strelitz .

From November 1744 he studied law at the University of Halle . In April 1746 he joined the Schwerin infantry regiment (from 1750 from Itzenplitz ) as a flag junior . In 1756 he was promoted to lieutenant. During the Seven Years' War he took part in the battles near Lobositz , Prague , Kolin , Roßbach and Leuthen . For health reasons he resigned from military service in March 1758.

As early as 1753 he had received Vanselow, Leppin and Schossow when his father's estate was divided . In June 1766 he succeeded District Administrator Peter von Glasenapp in office for the Demmin and Treptow district . His administration in 1770 was rated as good. In September 1771 he asked for his release for health reasons.

Dietrich Christoph Gustav von Maltzahn was married to Gustava Magdalene von Maltzahn (1738–1804) since April 1759. They had three sons, including Carl Albrecht Helmuth von Maltzahn (1766-1832), later war and domain councilor and district administrator of the Demmin district.
