Carl Bruhns (medical doctor)

Carl Bruhns (born November 24, 1869 in Leipzig , † January 21, 1934 in Berlin ) was a German dermatologist .

Life

The son of the astronomer and meteorologist Karl Christian Bruhns completed a medical degree at the University of Leipzig and was awarded a Dr. med. PhD . Then he worked from 1893 to 1895 as an assistant doctor at the Leipzig Medical Clinic under Heinrich Curschmann , from 1895 to 1896 at the Dermatological Clinic in Bern and from 1896 to 1903 at the Dermatological Clinic of the Charité in Berlin under Edmund Lesser .

In 1905 he took over the management of the municipal shelter. From 1908 he was medical director of the dermatological department of the Charlottenburg hospital. In 1900 he completed his habilitation with a thesis on the lymphatic vessels of the female genitals and from then on taught as a private lecturer , in 1908 as adjunct professor and from 1922 as associate professor at the University of Berlin .

He was also a board member of the Berlin Dermatological Society. He has written numerous articles in manuals and magazines, especially in the field of syphilidology .

He was married to Margarete Georgi (1875–1934).

He found his final resting place in the south-west cemetery in Stahnsdorf .
