Carl Buz (born April 6, 1803 in Wiesenbronn ; † October 18, 1870 in Augsburg ) was a German mechanical engineer , industrialist and co-founder of the later company " manroland ".

Life

Buz was born in 1803 as the son of a Bavarian officer. He became a military engineer and came to Augsburg in 1834, where he had been employed by the Munich-Augsburger Eisenbahn Aktienverein from 1835 . Buz took over the construction management in the Nannhofen-Augsburg section. Together with his brother-in-law Carl August Reichenbach , Friedrich Koenig's nephew , he leased the Sandersche machine factory in 1844 , which was renamed “C. Reichenbach'sche Maschinenfabrik ”was renamed and after the final acquisition in 1855 it was renamed“ Maschinenfabrik Augsburg AG ”. Under Buz, the company was converted into an AG in 1857. He remained managing director of the company until 1864, which initially manufactured high-speed presses . MAN began building diesel engines under his son Heinrich von Buz .
