Carl Döring , sometimes also written Karl Doering or Karl Döring , (born September 1, 1906 in Frankfurt am Main , † May 14, 1992 in Wiesbaden ) was a German motorcycle racer .

Career

The Wiesbaden Carl Döring started in 1947 in the German motorcycle road championship, which was held for the first time after the Second World War . At the time, Wiesbaden was the racing center for the 125 cc class alongside Frankfurt am Main . The drivers supported each other. Friedrich Rückert, Willy Thorn (German runner-up 1948), Ernst Heinrich, Rudi Meister and Carl Döring belonged to the group. Döring was the most successful driver. With a DKW , built in 1930, he won the German championship in the 125 cc class in 1947, 1948 and 1949. From year to year he improved his motorcycle with engines from the Austrian company Puch .

In 1947 and 1949 Döring won at Rund um Schotten . In 1948 he won the Hamburg city park race , the Grenzlandring near Wegberg and in Hockenheim . In 1949 he was successful in the Dieburger Dreiecksrennen , again in Hamburg , Hockenheim and Schotten, won the Eifel Cup on the Nürburgring - Nordschleife , the Donauringrennen in Ingolstadt and on the Norisring in Nuremberg . After the 1949 season, Carl Döring ended his racing career, but in 1950 he still took part in the ADAC Germany tour on a DKW.
