Carl Ewers (administrative officer)

Carl Ewers (born February 7, 1902 in Recklinghausen ; † November 10, 1981 ) was a German lawyer and administrative officer .

Life

Carl Ewers completed a commercial apprenticeship in Düsseldorf and Münster from 1921 to 1922 . Two years later he began to study law, which he graduated with the first state examination in 1926 and the second state examination in 1930. In 1929 he received his doctorate in law . After completing his studies, he entered the judicial service and worked from 1930 to 1931 as a court assessor at the public prosecutor's offices in Münster and Hagen . He then worked as a lawyer at the Münster District and Regional Court until 1941 . From 1941 to 1945 he worked as a department head and authorized representative for local transport at the senior council of the Province of Westphalia , based in Münster.

In 1945, Ewers became head of the transport department in the Arnsberg administrative district and from 1945 to 1946 he was the government director of the General Department for Economics in the Higher Presidium of Münster. In August 1946 he moved to the Ministry of Economics of North Rhine-Westphalia as a ministerial director . From October 1950 until his retirement in 1967 he was first as ministerial director, from 1953 then as state secretary , deputy head of the supreme state authority Ministry of Economics and Transport, which was renamed the Ministry of Economics, Middle Classes and Transport in 1958. As such, Ewers dealt with issues relating to the organization of the Cologne trade fair .

He was a member of the Catholic student associations AV Zollern Münster and KDStV Ripuaria Freiburg im Breisgau .
