Carl Frode Tiller

Carl Frode Tiller (born January 4, 1970 in Namsos , Norway ) is a Norwegian writer who writes in Nynorsk .

biography

Tiller grew up in Nord-Trøndelag . He first studied literature and later history at the Technical and Natural Sciences University of Norway in Trondheim .

In 2001 Tiller published his first novel entitled Skråninga (The Embankment), which was awarded the Tarjei Vesaas Prize . The award is given for the best literary debut of a year. Also in 2001 he received the audience award from P 2, a Norwegian radio station. The book was also nominated for the Bragepreis . A dramatized version of the book has been performed in several Norwegian theaters, including Det Norske Teatret in Oslo.

Like his debut work, his novels Bipersonar (minor characters) and Innsirkling (encirclement) received very good reviews. His books have been translated into Swedish, Danish, Finnish, Icelandic, German, English, French and Russian. Short prose by Tiller also appeared in magazines and anthologies .

Together with Håvard Thørring he forms the band Kong Ler , which has released two CDs.
