Carl Haas (entrepreneur)

Carl Josef Haas (born August 28, 1844 in Mannheim ; † April 4, 1921 there ) was a German entrepreneur.

After attending the higher middle school , Carl Haas initially worked in the company of his father Johann Conrad Haas, a wholesaler of colonial goods . From 1863 to 1865 he was an apprentice in Saint-Péray .

1884 Carl, together with his (half) brother Rudolf Conrad († 1905) and Carl Clemm the pulp -Fabrik Waldhof ( Zewa ) and took over the commercial management. In 1893 he traveled to the World's Fair in Chicago . In 1898 Carl Haas became general director, in 1902 his son Hans took over the management of the AG.

After Carl Clemm's death in 1899, the Carl Clemm and Carl Haas Foundation was established.

In 1866 Carl Haas married Anna Forschner (1846–1914) in Mannheim, with whom he had three sons and a daughter.
